Indian National Dies in Kuwait Amid Ongoing West Asia Conflict

Tragic Incident in Kuwait

On March 30, an Indian citizen lost their life in Kuwait following Iranian missile strikes that targeted a power and water desalination facility. This incident marks the eighth Indian casualty in the ongoing conflict in West Asia, which has escalated over the past month.

According to the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in Kuwait, a service building at the plant sustained damage during the attack, as reported by the state-run KUNA news agency.

Fatima Jawhar Hayat, a spokesperson for the ministry, confirmed the fatality and stated that technical and emergency response teams were promptly dispatched to manage the situation.

She further mentioned that specialized teams are actively working to secure the site while collaborating closely with security agencies and other relevant authorities.

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait also acknowledged the death, expressing heartfelt condolences for the 'tragic demise' through a social media update.

The embassy assured that it is in close coordination with Kuwaiti officials to provide all necessary support and assistance.

Kuwaiti authorities condemned the strikes on the desalination plant as 'brutal,' although they did not disclose the specific location of the facility.

Despite the attack, the ministry reported that the operational efficiency of the country's electricity and water supply systems remains intact.

Earlier last week, another Indian national was among two fatalities in the UAE when debris from intercepted missiles fell onto a street.
