The Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team has successfully reached the quarterfinals of the FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup 2025 in Tamil Nadu, maintaining an unbeaten streak throughout the round-robin stage. On Tuesday, they delivered an impressive performance, defeating Switzerland 5-0 at the Madurai International Hockey Stadium. Under the leadership of Rohit and the guidance of coach PR Sreejesh, the team is set to face Belgium on December 5, as announced by Hockey India.

Explosive Start by India

India's young players showcased their experience and skill, dominating the match from the outset. The scoring began just two minutes in, with Manmeet Singh, celebrating his birthday, putting India ahead early. He quickly added another goal in the 11th minute, followed by Sharda Nand Tiwari's successful penalty corner in the 13th minute, bringing the score to 3-0. The enthusiastic crowd in Madurai was treated to an exhilarating display, despite challenging weather conditions.

Strong Finish to Confirm Victory

Continuing their strong performance, Arshdeep Singh, who had previously netted a hat-trick against Oman, scored the fourth goal in the 28th minute. Goalkeeper Prince Deep Singh was instrumental in maintaining the clean sheet, making several crucial saves to deny Switzerland any scoring opportunities. Sharda Nand, named player of the match, capped off the victory with his second goal from a penalty corner in the 54th minute, solidifying India's win.

This victory adds to India's impressive record, having previously defeated Chile 7-0 and Oman 17-0 in earlier matches. The team is now preparing for the quarterfinals, scheduled to take place in Chennai on December 5.
