Commencement of Haj Pilgrimage


Riyadh, June 4: The journey of Indian Haj pilgrims to Mina from Mecca has officially commenced, marking the beginning of the Five-Day Core Haj Period in Saudi Arabia. Officials from 'Team India' are on hand to assist pilgrims during this significant transition.


In collaboration with Saudi authorities, the team is dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience for all pilgrims, reflecting India's commitment to the welfare of its citizens.


On social media, the Indian Haj Pilgrims office announced, "The movement of Haj pilgrims to Mina has started today! 'Team India' officials are actively facilitating the transport services to help Indian pilgrims reach their designated camps in Mina smoothly."


Indian officials are particularly focused on aiding vulnerable pilgrims in boarding buses to Mina.


Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, conveyed his best wishes to the pilgrims embarking on their Haj journey, emphasizing the support available as they travel to Mina.


Rijiju stated, "I extend my heartfelt wishes to all Indian pilgrims performing Haj this year. Our Haj Mission, led by dedicated officials and teams, is fully prepared in coordination with Saudi authorities. Administrative and medical teams will be present at all Mina camps. For assistance, please utilize the Haj Suvidha App or contact our toll-free numbers. Wishing you a smooth, blessed, and spiritually enriching Haj."


Earlier this week, India's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Suhel Ajaz Khan, addressed the pilgrims, offering his best wishes and assuring them of comprehensive support, including the presence of administrative and medical personnel throughout their journey.


Additionally, India's Consul General in Jeddah, Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, led a briefing regarding medical care and assistance arrangements in the Mashaer Region, which includes the Tent city of Mina and the plains of Muzdalifah and Arafat, for Indian Haj pilgrims.


This session included participation from the Indian Consul (Haj), Muhammed Abdul Jaleel, along with officials, doctors, and nurses from 'Team India' assigned to Haj 2025.


Recently, Indian pilgrims who began their Haj pilgrimage expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and quality of services provided by the Indian government, ensuring a smooth journey in Saudi Arabia.


The Ministry of Minority Affairs shared, "Indian pilgrims who traveled for Haj 2025 through the Haj Committee of India are pleased with the management and facilities provided by the Government of India. The Ministry is committed to ensuring a comfortable and dignified experience for every Haj pilgrim."


Furthermore, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, George Kurian, emphasized the Centre's dedicated efforts to facilitate a successful Haj for all pilgrims.
