Indian Delegation's Arrival in Cairo

A group of parliamentarians led by Supriya Sule from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SCP) arrived at Cairo International Airport on Monday as part of their multi-country tour. The Indian Ambassador to Egypt, Suresh K. Reddy, warmly welcomed the delegation upon their arrival.

Discussing the current tour, Supriya Sule expressed that the visits to Qatar, South Africa, and Ethiopia were "very successful," and she hopes that the Egypt leg of the journey will further enhance India’s bilateral relations.

Busy Schedule Ahead

The delegation reached Cairo after concluding their visit to Ethiopia. The itinerary in Egypt is packed with ministerial meetings, discussions with think tanks, media interactions, and engagements with the Indian community.

This group is one of seven multi-party delegations assigned by India to visit the capitals of 33 countries, aiming to convey the message to the international community regarding Pakistan's links to terrorism.

Rising Tensions Between India and Pakistan

Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, tensions escalated between India and Pakistan. On the night of May 6-7, India conducted precise strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9, and 10, to which India responded firmly.

On May 10, a consensus was reached between the military directors-general of both sides to halt military operations after discussions.
