Indian Defense Minister Launches Expedition to Mount Aconcagua

Launch of the Expedition

On Thursday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh officially inaugurated a joint expedition to Mount Aconcagua in Argentina from South Block. Standing at 6,961 meters, this mountain is the highest peak in South America and the tallest outside of Asia. The expedition is being organized by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) in Uttarkashi and the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM & WS) in Pahalgam.
