This venue is set to host its inaugural One-Day International match when India faces New Zealand on January 11. Gill commended the Kotambi Stadium, emphasizing the high-quality amenities and spacious dressing rooms. He noted that these features are crucial for players, alongside the well-maintained ground, which he described as 'very beautiful.' He stated, 'The stadium looks fantastic, and the spacious dressing room is something we always appreciate. The ground itself is also very beautiful.'
As he prepares for his first ODI series as captain in India, Gill expressed his eagerness for the upcoming matches against New Zealand. 'I'm really excited for my first series as captain in India. Everyone has been performing well in domestic games, so we are all in good form and looking forward to the challenge against the Kiwis,' he remarked.

Jaiswal also praised the stadium's overall environment, focusing on the quality of the outfield, pitch, and recovery facilities. 'It's a stunning stadium with a great outfield and pitch. Krishna expressed his excitement about returning to the venue, reminiscing about his Karnataka team's victory in the Vijay Hazare Trophy final held in Vadodara last year. He highlighted the top-notch facilities, including the pool, gym, and practice areas, which enhance the experience. 'I'm thrilled to be back here, especially since we won the Vijay Hazare Trophy last year. The facilities are fantastic, and I'm really looking forward to playing on this ground again,' Krishna shared.
