Table Tennis Highlights

Indian table tennis player Manush Shah kicked off his men's singles journey at the Asian Games with a decisive victory against Malaysia's Wong Qi Shen on Thursday. According to reports, Manush secured a 4-0 win, with set scores of 11-9, 14-12, 11-7, and 11-4.


In women's doubles, the Indian pair of Sreeja Akula and Syndrela Das also began their campaign successfully, defeating Mongolia's Bolor-erdene Batmunkh and Burenjargal Sanjaa with a score of 3-0 (11-5, 11-4, 12-10).


Earlier in the competition, Diya Chitale and Yashaswini Ghorpade achieved a convincing 3-0 victory over the Iranian duo of Setayash Iloukhani and Mashid Ashtari, with set scores of 11-2, 11-2, and 11-4.


Athletics Achievements

In athletics, the team comprising Jay Kumar, Kiran Pahal, Manu TS, and Poovamma MR advanced to the finals of the mixed 4x400 m relay. They finished second in their heat with a time of 3:16.23, just behind China, which clocked 3:15.97, while the UAE secured third place with a time of 3:17.00.


Swimming Results

In the swimming events, Aryan Nehra placed third in the B final of the men's 800 m freestyle, recording a time of 8:02.52 minutes. However, this event is not a medal competition but rather a consolation final for slower swimmers.


Additionally, in the 4x100m freestyle relay, the team consisting of Benedicton Beniston, Aneesh Sunil, Akash Mani, and Gitesh Shah finished 12th out of 13 teams, with a time of 3:23.51 minutes, ranking sixth in their heat.
