Operation Mahadev: A Major Blow to Terrorism

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army's 'Operation Mahadev' has emerged as a significant threat to terrorists. Following the elimination of the mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack, security forces are now advancing against other militants. Recent reports indicate developments from the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control, resulting in the deaths of two suspected terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, as confirmed by officials on Wednesday. This encounter occurred just two days after security forces neutralized three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack in a forest area near Srinagar.

The army reported that the two terrorists were killed at midnight in Poonch while attempting to infiltrate from across the border. This operation has been designated as 'Shivshakti'. The Jammu-based 'White Knight Corps' shared on social media, "In a successful anti-infiltration operation, vigilant soldiers of the Indian Army eliminated two terrorists attempting to breach the Line of Control."

The swift response and precise firing thwarted their malicious intentions, leading to the recovery of three weapons. The army attributed the success of this operation to coordinated intelligence from its own units and the Jammu and Kashmir police, and the operation is still ongoing.

Earlier, the army had reported observing suspicious activities of two individuals near the fence in the general area of the Poonch sector, prompting the initiation of gunfire. Officials noted that intelligence regarding an infiltration attempt by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists led to the observation of terrorist activities in the Maldivian area of the Degwar sector late Tuesday night.

The terrorists opened fire, leading to a prolonged encounter that resulted in the deaths of both militants. Authorities confirmed the fatalities as the search operation commenced at dawn.
