Indian Army Vows to Uphold Justice on Pahalgam Attack Anniversary
A Year After the Pahalgam Terror Attack
New Delhi: Marking the first anniversary of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army reiterated its unwavering commitment to combat terrorism, asserting that any acts against India will be met with a guaranteed response.
On April 22 of the previous year, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in southern Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, predominantly tourists.
This heinous act shocked the nation and drew widespread condemnation from leaders and governments worldwide.
In retaliation, India initiated a military operation known as Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting and dismantling various terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The Army emphasized on social media, "For acts against India, the response is assured. Justice will be served. Always. #SindoorAnniversary #JusticeEndures #NationFirst."
Accompanying this message was a digital poster featuring three armed soldiers against a striking red background, captioned "OPERATION SINDOOR CONTINUES…".

The poster also referenced Operation Mahadev, which was initiated shortly after the attack to track down and neutralize those responsible.
On the eve of the anniversary, the Indian Army stated, "When the limits of humanity are breached, the response will be decisive."
Following the launch of this significant military operation, the Indian Army announced on social media at 1:51 am on May 7, 2025, that "#PahalgamTerrorAttack Justice is Served. Jai Hind!" along with a digital poster labeled 'OPERATION SINDOOR'.
In response, Pakistan also initiated military actions against India, with all subsequent counter-offensives by India conducted under Operation Sindoor.
The military engagement between the two nuclear-armed nations lasted nearly 88 hours before a mutual understanding was reached on the evening of May 10.
In the past year, senior Indian military officials have repeatedly affirmed that Operation Sindoor "still continues," emphasizing the necessity for the country's military readiness to remain at a "very high" level at all times.
