Indian Army Launches Operation Sindoor in Response to Cross-Border Aggression
Operation Sindoor: A Strong Response to Provocations
The Indian Army has initiated a decisive counteroffensive named Operation Sindoor, targeting enemy positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. An Army officer characterized this operation as a robust response to what he termed 'cowardly provocations,' asserting, 'When they fire at us, we will respond with the full might of the Indian Army.'
In a statement, the officer elaborated, 'Operation Sindoor serves as our swift and powerful reply to the enemy's provocations. The message is clear: they attack us, and we will retaliate with all our strength.'
He noted that when the enemy's heavy artillery failed to disrupt Indian military positions, they resorted to targeting innocent civilians and sacred sites with unprovoked fire.
'When they could not engage our military effectively, they targeted civilians and religious sites with heavy artillery. As the company commander on the front lines, I took charge of the situation,' he explained.
'We unleashed our full arsenal against the enemy. On the night of May 6, all our weapons were deployed in unison, engaging each enemy post effectively. Utilizing advanced surveillance technology, including drones, we gathered real-time intelligence to accurately locate and destroy their artillery positions. We also employed drone-jamming techniques, rendering their posts ineffective,' he added.
The operation successfully showcased the Indian Army's homegrown artillery systems, highlighting the operational readiness and effectiveness of indigenous defense technologies in countering enemy threats.
Launched on May 7 following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, Operation Sindoor demonstrated a coordinated response from multiple military branches, emphasizing precision and professionalism.
An Army representative highlighted that the success of Operation Sindoor was attributed to strong infrastructure, extensive training, and tactical preparedness along the LoC.
