Indian Army Launches Mobile Cinema Initiative in Arunachal Pradesh

Outreach Program to Engage Rural Youth
Itanagar, July 7: To foster connections with rural populations and inspire local youth, the Indian Army has initiated a unique outreach program in partnership with Caravan Talkies throughout Arunachal Pradesh.
This initiative employs mobile digital cinema vans that will journey to isolated villages, showcasing motivational films, documentaries about the Army, and content related to recruitment. Each screening location will also feature registration assistance counters to aid interested individuals in signing up for the Agniveer recruitment scheme. The primary objectives of this initiative include enhancing awareness of career prospects within the Indian Army, instilling a sense of patriotism, and highlighting the Army's crucial contributions to nation-building.
By bringing entertainment and educational content to the most remote regions, this campaign provides a distinctive opportunity for young individuals to connect with the armed forces. Representatives from the Army Recruiting Office in Jorhat will be available during the screenings to engage with participants, address their questions, and offer guidance on joining the Army.
As per Defence PRO Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, the Caravan Talkies initiative will be executed in phases across various districts in Arunachal Pradesh. From July 8 to 15, screenings are scheduled in the Papum Pare and Lower Subansiri districts, targeting institutions such as Dera Natung Government College, Don Bosco College, TRIHMS Medical College, Government College Yachuli, Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University (IGTAMSU), and Saint Claret College Ziro.
The subsequent phase of the campaign, occurring from July 17 to 22, will focus on engaging youth in Upper Subansiri and Lower Siang districts. Screenings will be conducted at Government College Daporijo, Dimow Science Academy, Don Bosco College, along with several other educational institutions in the area.
