Indian Archery Teams Advance to Quarterfinals

The Indian archery teams have kicked off their campaign at the Asian Games on a high note, with both the men's and women's compound teams securing spots in the quarterfinals in Aichi-Nagoya. The men's team, consisting of Sahil Jadhav, Ganesh Mani Ratnam, and Kushal Dalal, faced off against the UAE, winning decisively with a score of 235-215. They are set to compete against Bhutan in the quarterfinals later today, as reported by ESPN.

On the women's side, the trio of Chikitha Taniparthi, Jyothi Surekha Vennam, and Prithika Pradeep outperformed their opponents from Mongolia, achieving a score of 238-223. They will be up against Kazakhstan in their quarterfinal match.

Indian Surfers Progress in Women's Shortboard Event

In surfing, India received encouraging news as both Sugar Shanti Gayen and Kamali Prakash advanced to the third round of the women's shortboard event. Sugar Shanti triumphed over Chen Wan-yu from Chinese Taipei, scoring 7.33 points, with her first wave earning 3.83 and her second wave 3.50. Meanwhile, Kamali Prakash defeated Singapore's Camille Marie Spaccarotella with a score of 7.57, where she scored 4.17 on her first wave and 3.40 on her second, while her opponent managed 4.50.

The quarterfinals for surfing are scheduled for tomorrow.
