Ambassador Briefs All-Party Delegation

On Thursday, Sibi George, the Indian Ambassador to Japan, provided a briefing to an All-Party delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha. He emphasized that Japan was among the first nations to respond following the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

The purpose of this briefing was to reinforce India's commitment to combating terrorism. George stated, "In the wake of the terror attack, which involved cross-border terrorism, Japan was one of the initial countries to react. The all-party delegation is here to discuss our approach with Japanese officials."

The Indian embassy in Tokyo reiterated that India's steadfast position against cross-border terrorism, exemplified by Operation Sindoor, will be a focal point in all discussions.

In a post shared on X, the Embassy noted, "The All-Party Parliamentary Delegation was briefed by Ambassador Sibi George regarding Japan's specific approach to engagements, emphasizing India's strong stance against terrorism."

The Embassy also mentioned, "The All-Party Parliamentary Delegation, led by Hon'ble MP Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, has arrived in Tokyo and was welcomed by Ambassador Sibi George. India's unwavering commitment to countering cross-border terrorism, as demonstrated in Operation Sindoor, will be highlighted throughout our engagements."

This nine-member delegation is embarking on a five-nation tour as part of Operation Sindoor's global outreach. Alongside Jha, the delegation includes Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MP Dr. Hemang Joshi, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, and Pradan Baruah.

The delegation's mission is to inform international partners about India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack and its ongoing battle against cross-border terrorism while engaging with leaders in Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore.

In response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, India initiated Operation Sindoor, which involved precision strikes targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK). The Indian Armed Forces effectively countered subsequent Pakistani aggression, targeting its airbases. Following a communication from Pakistan's DGMO to his Indian counterpart, both nations have agreed to halt military actions.
