India Voices Concern Over Venezuela's Turmoil Following US Military Operation
India's Stance on Venezuela's Situation
New Delhi: On Sunday, India expressed significant concern regarding the recent events unfolding in Venezuela, particularly after the US conducted a military operation that resulted in the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his spouse.
The Indian government is actively monitoring the situation in Venezuela and has reiterated its commitment to the welfare of the Venezuelan populace.
"The recent occurrences in Venezuela are alarming. We are keeping a close watch on the developing scenario," stated the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
India has urged for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing issues to maintain regional peace and stability.
"India stands firm in its support for the safety and well-being of the Venezuelan people," the MEA added.
The statement further emphasized the importance of dialogue among all parties involved to ensure a peaceful resolution and stability in the region.
The US military operation targeted Caracas following persistent allegations against Maduro regarding drug trafficking, which he has vehemently denied.
After the US action, Maduro and his wife were taken to New York, prompting Venezuela to declare a national emergency.
The MEA also mentioned that the Indian embassy in Caracas is in contact with the Indian community and will continue to offer necessary assistance.
