India U17 Men's National Team Unveils Squad for AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026

Announcement of the Squad

On Friday, Bibiano Fernandes, the head coach of the India U17 men's national football team, announced the selection of a 23-member squad for the upcoming AFC U17 Asian Cup, set to take place in Saudi Arabia in 2026.

Current Preparations

The Blue Colts are currently stationed in Doha, Qatar, where they have engaged in two friendly matches against the Qatari team, resulting in a 1-1 draw and a goalless 0-0 tie. They are scheduled to depart for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 3, according to a press release.

Group Stage Details

In the group stage, India has been placed in Group D, competing against Australia and Uzbekistan. Notably, DPR Korea has withdrawn from the tournament, reducing the group to three teams. The matches will see India face Australia on May 6 and Uzbekistan on May 10.
