During the ninth Indian Ocean Conference, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced that India is finalizing a bilateral agreement to supply oil and gas, aimed at enhancing Mauritius's energy security.

Jaishankar, who is attending the conference in Mauritius, emphasized that the ongoing crisis in West Asia, as highlighted by Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, underscores the importance of strategic partnerships, particularly in the energy sector.
