India Secures Silver in Mixed 4x400m Relay

On Thursday, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya praised the Indian team comprising M R Poovamma, Vithya Ramraj, Manu T S, and Vishal T K for their remarkable performance, which earned them a silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay at the Asian Games 2026.

The Indian squad showcased a spirited effort, with Vithya Ramaraj delivering an impressive anchor leg that helped secure their second-place finish.

Clocking in at 3:14.46, the Indian team of Manu TS, Poovamma MR, Vishal TK, and Vithya Ramraj claimed the silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay final. Bahrain took home the gold with a time of 3:12.87, while the bronze medal was awarded to the team that finished in 3:14.54.

This achievement adds another athletics medal to India's tally at the continental event.

Seema Kumari Bags Bronze in Women's 10,000m

Mandaviya also congratulated Seema Kumari for her outstanding performance in the women's 10,000m event, where she earned a bronze medal at the Asian Games 2026.

Winfred Yavi of Bahrain secured the gold medal with a time of 32:39.18, while Japan's Nozomi Tanaka took silver with a time of 32:41.54. Seema Kumari finished strong, clocking 32:50.05 to earn the bronze in the women's 10,000m final.
