Comprehensive Security Review Meeting

On Tuesday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, along with senior military officials, conducted an extensive review of the national security landscape concerning the border with Pakistan.

The meeting included key figures such as Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and Air Force Vice Chief Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari.

Officials reported that the discussions focused on the security situation along the western border and related issues. Singh emphasized the need for the military to maintain a high level of readiness to respond to any potential military actions from Pakistan.

This review took place a day after discussions between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan, aimed at finding ways to avoid 'hostile' military actions and to consider immediate steps to reduce troop presence along the borders and forward areas.

It is believed that the outcomes of the DGMO talks were also a topic of discussion during the meeting. In response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, India conducted precise strikes on terrorist infrastructure under 'Operation Sindoor' during the night of May 6 and 7.

Following India's actions, Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9, and 10. India responded firmly, inflicting significant damage on several key Pakistani military installations, including air force bases, air defense systems, command and control centers, and radar sites.

On Saturday evening, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that India and Pakistan had reached an agreement to immediately halt all firing and military operations on land, air, and sea.
