India's Strong Stance on Pakistan's Comments

In response to the recent remarks made by Pakistani leadership against India, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, stated that India has observed a pattern of reckless, war-mongering, and hateful comments from Pakistan. He emphasized that making anti-India statements is a well-known tactic of the Pakistani leadership to divert attention from their own failures. Jaiswal advised Pakistan to exercise restraint in its rhetoric, warning that any acts of aggression could lead to severe consequences, as evidenced by recent events.

India's Position on the Indus Waters Treaty

When questioned about the ruling of the arbitration court concerning the Indus Waters Treaty, Jaiswal reiterated that India has never recognized the legitimacy, appropriateness, or authority of the so-called arbitration court. He asserted that its declarations are beyond jurisdiction, lack legal standing, and do not affect India's rights to water usage. Furthermore, India categorically rejects Pakistan's selective and misleading references to the so-called 'decisions.' As reiterated in our press release dated June 27, 2025, the Indus Waters Treaty has been suspended due to a sovereign decision by the Government of India in response to Pakistan's continued sponsorship of cross-border terrorism, including the brutal Pulwama attack.
