India's Firm Stance on Allegations of Chinese Assistance to Pakistan

On Tuesday, India expressed strong disapproval regarding reports suggesting that China aided Pakistan during Operation Sindoor last May. The Indian government stated that nations claiming responsibility for such actions should reflect on how these activities impact their global reputation. This response followed a Chinese official's alleged admission of providing technical support to Pakistan amid rising tensions between the two neighboring countries after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

During a media briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal remarked that the reports confirm previously known information. He described Operation Sindoor as a precise, targeted, and planned response to the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, aimed at dismantling the state-sponsored terrorist infrastructure operating under Pakistan's direction. He further emphasized that countries considering themselves responsible should contemplate whether supporting efforts to protect terrorist structures affects their credibility and reputation.

Tensions escalated between India and Pakistan following the shooting of 26 tourists by Lashkar-linked terrorists in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. In response to this attack, India initiated military operations targeting terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. According to a recent interview broadcasted by Chinese media, Zhang Heng, an engineer from China's Aviation Industry Corporation, discussed China's direct involvement in Pakistani operations during the conflict.

Zhang was among those who provided technical assistance to Pakistan during the conflict. He noted that at the support center, they frequently heard the roar of fighter jets taking off and the continuous sound of airstrike sirens. He described the extreme conditions, with temperatures soaring close to 50 degrees Celsius in May, making it a challenging experience both mentally and physically.
