India Launches Operation Sindoor Against Terror Hubs in Pakistan

Operation Sindoor Targets Terrorist Infrastructure
Dharamshala:
In a decisive move following the tragic Pahalgam attack on April 22, India initiated 'Operation Sindoor' in the early hours of May 7, 2025. This operation aimed at nine terrorist sites located within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK).
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that this operation was strategically planned to address the roots of cross-border terrorism while minimizing the risk of escalation.
Targeted Action Without Escalation
Officials from the Defence Ministry emphasized that the operation did not involve any strikes on Pakistani military facilities, underscoring India's commitment to delivering a strong message without provoking a larger conflict.
“This operation was a precise counter-terrorism effort. It reflects India's determination to hold those responsible for terrorism accountable while avoiding unnecessary provocations,” stated a senior official.
According to sources, the mission was meticulously planned to ensure that there were no civilian casualties and to prevent collateral damage. This action followed closely after the Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen.
Escalating Tensions as Pakistan Responds
In the aftermath of the strikes, Pakistan breached the ceasefire in the Bhimber Gali sector of the Poonch-Rajouri area, launching artillery fire.
“The Indian Army is responding in a measured and calculated manner,” remarked a spokesperson from the Defence Ministry.
Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations chief, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, acknowledged the air strikes and mentioned that Islamabad is currently evaluating the damage, promising a response.
India Engages with Global Allies
Following the military operation, India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval reached out to US officials, including NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, to discuss the operation and India's position.
In light of the escalating situation, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for both India and Pakistan to exercise maximum restraint, as conveyed by his spokesperson.
A comprehensive briefing regarding the details and implications of Operation Sindoor is anticipated later today, with both domestic and international observers closely monitoring the situation along the Line of Control.
