On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the e-Zero FIR initiative, a project by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). This innovative program aims to swiftly apprehend criminals involved in cyber financial crimes.
Details of the Initiative
Shah shared the announcement on social media, stating, "The MHA's Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) has launched the e-Zero FIR initiative to catch criminals with unprecedented speed. Initially rolled out in Delhi, this system will automatically convert reports of cyber financial crimes exceeding ₹10 lakh filed at NCRP or 1930 into FIRs. This initiative is designed to expedite investigations and will soon be implemented nationwide. The Modi administration is enhancing the cybersecurity framework to ensure a secure digital environment in India."

In addition to the e-Zero FIR initiative, Shah also launched an upgraded Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) portal in New Delhi, aimed at enhancing the digital experience for OCI cardholders.
This launch signifies a crucial advancement in the government's commitment to modernizing services for the Indian diaspora.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) noted that the new portal was developed in response to technological progress over the last decade and feedback from OCI cardholders regarding previous system issues.
"Today, I launched the revamped OCI Portal in New Delhi. This new portal addresses existing challenges and improves user experience, reflecting significant technological advancements and feedback from OCI cardholders," stated the MHA.
