India Issues Strong Protest to Pakistan Over Naval Collision Incident

India's Diplomatic Response to Naval Collision

New Delhi: On Wednesday, India summoned the Pakistani Charge d’Affaires (CDA) in response to what it termed as 'unacceptable conduct' by a vessel of the Pakistan Navy, which resulted in a collision with an Indian Navy ship in the Arabian Sea's international waters.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that the diplomat was instructed to relay to Pakistani officials the importance of adhering to military protocols and respecting existing agreements to avoid future incidents.

"The CDA was called to the Ministry of External Affairs today, where a formal protest was lodged regarding the unprofessional behavior of Pakistani naval forces that caused the collision with an Indian Navy unit," the MEA stated.

"Although the incident occurred in international waters without significant damage, the actions of the Pakistani naval ship violated Article 10 of the 1991 agreement between India and Pakistan concerning Advance Notice on Military Exercises, Maneuvers, and Troop Movements," it added.

Additionally, India's Charge d’Affaires in Islamabad has been directed to file a similar protest with Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
