Rescheduling of T20I Matches

The men's T20I series between India and Ireland has been adjusted to support the Women's cricket team. Both T20 matches, scheduled for Friday and Sunday, will now commence an hour earlier, starting at 6 PM IST (1:30 PM local time) instead of the usual 7 PM IST, as confirmed by a representative from Cricket Ireland.

This adjustment allows cricket enthusiasts to enjoy both events without conflict. The Women's T20 World Cup match featuring Harmanpreet Kaur's team against Australia is set to begin at 7 PM, a crucial game as they vie for a semi-final spot. The men's matches will take place in Belfast on the specified days.

Upcoming England Series Timings

Following the Ireland series, the Indian team will travel to England for a five-match T20 series, with varied start times. Three matches in Chester-le-Street, Nottingham, and Bristol will kick off at 10 PM IST, while the other two games in Manchester on July 4 and Southampton on July 11 will follow the regular 7 PM IST schedule. Additionally, three ODIs will be played, all starting at 3:30 PM IST.

Historic T20I in Belfast

This series marks a significant milestone for the Indian men's cricket team as they play their first T20 International in Belfast. The last encounter in this location was in 2007, featuring ODIs against South Africa and Ireland. In recent years, India has only competed in Dublin, winning all six T20 matches held there in 2018, 2022, and 2023.

Shreyas Iyer's Captaincy and Young Talent

This series also introduces new dynamics to the team, with Mumbai's Shreyas Iyer set to make his debut as captain. Fans are particularly eager to see if 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi will don the Indian jersey for the first time, as he is included in the squad for both the Ireland and England tours.

M.V. Narasimha Rao to Ring the Bell

To commence the second T20I on Sunday, former Indian leg-spinner M.V. Narasimha Rao will ring the traditional bell at Stormont Cricket Ground in Belfast. Rao, who played four Tests for India between 1978-79, later moved to Ireland and led Hyderabad to a Ranji Trophy victory against Delhi in the 1987-88 season.
