The President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), PT Usha, expressed her excitement about India being selected to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games. This announcement follows a high-level meeting with Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, attended by senior officials from Commonwealth Sport. The delegation, which included Commonwealth Sport President Donald Rukare, CEO Katie Sadleir, and Director of Games & Assurance Darren Hall, conducted a thorough visit across multiple cities from April 8 to 10, assessing essential venues and infrastructure in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, and Ekta Nagar.

In a conversation with media representatives, PT Usha highlighted that the visiting delegates were pleased with the advancements made in Ahmedabad. They acknowledged the robust political and institutional support from the central government, the Gujarat administration, the IOA, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The delegates were impressed with our progress and the backing from Prime Minister Modi, the Chief Minister, and the Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat.
