Setback for India's Initiative
India currently holds the presidency of BRICS and had aimed for all member states to agree on a common statement. However, differing interests and perspectives among the countries hindered this initiative. Ultimately, only a 'Chair Statement' was released following the meeting.
India's Stance on Palestine Remains Steadfast
Sources clarified that there has been no shift in India's policy regarding the Palestine issue. India reiterated its commitment to a two-state solution and the restoration of peace in the region, maintaining its traditional diplomatic balance.
