Safety Measures for Indian Nationals in Tehran
In light of the intensifying conflict between Iran and Israel, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday that Indian students in Tehran have been relocated for their safety. The MEA has also advised other Indian nationals capable of leaving the city independently to do so, given the evolving situation.
According to a press release from the MEA, "Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city for safety reasons, facilitated by the Embassy. Other residents who can arrange their own transport have also been encouraged to leave the city due to the current circumstances." The MEA emphasized, "The Embassy is in constant contact with the community to offer all possible assistance. Additional advisories may be released as the situation develops." The conflict between Israel and Iran has now entered its fifth day, with both nations exchanging missile attacks, putting civilians in critical areas at risk.
Reports indicate that at least 224 individuals have lost their lives in Iran since the onset of hostilities, while 24 fatalities have been reported in Israel. The Indian Embassy in Iran has urged all Indian citizens currently in Tehran who have not yet contacted the embassy to do so immediately, providing their location and contact information.
