Kabaddi: India Maintains Winning Momentum

In a remarkable display, the Indian kabaddi team, the reigning champions, secured a decisive 63-31 victory against South Korea during their second Group A match at the Asian Games 2026 on Tuesday.

India showcased an impressive performance in the first half, leading 34-14 at halftime. They executed two all-outs against South Korea before the break, with the second occurring just prior to halftime. After the interval, India sustained their dominance, ultimately achieving a 32-point win, marking their second consecutive victory in Group A.

Shooting: Elavenil and Parth Advance to Gold Medal Match

In shooting, Indian athletes Elavenil Valarivan and Parth Mane have advanced to the gold medal match after finishing second in the qualification round for the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event.

China led the qualification with a record score of 638.9, surpassing the previous world record of 636.9. The Indian duo started strong, reaching 211.9 after 20 shots and finishing with a total of 634.9, which also broke the existing Asian record.

China's Sheng Lihao, who participated in the men's 10m air rifle qualification, helped his team complete their shots ahead of others. South Korea and Iran were still finalizing their scores when China and India concluded their qualification rounds.

This year, the final format has been altered; instead of separate matches for gold and bronze, all four qualifying teams will compete simultaneously, similar to individual events, with periodic eliminations.

Other Sports: Soft Tennis and Wushu Updates

In soft tennis, Jay Meena triumphed over Pakistan's Hussain Arain with a score of 4-0 in the men's singles Group D, while Aadhya Tiwari faced a setback, losing 1-4 to Thailand's Alisha Ziegler in the women's singles Group D.

In Wushu, Langlentombi Devi Hanjabam secured ninth place in the women's Nanquan final.
