Government Response to Misinformation

The Indian government has categorically refuted claims suggesting a security breach at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi. Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, clarified that only a peaceful protest took place outside the High Commission.

Debunking Propaganda

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that misleading reports have been circulated by certain sections of the Bangladeshi media regarding this incident.

The ministry remarked, 'We have observed misleading propaganda in some parts of the Bangladeshi media concerning this event. The truth is that on December 20, around 20-25 youths gathered in front of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi to protest against the horrific murder of Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh, while also demanding the safety of all minorities in Bangladesh.'

Clarification on Security Measures

The ministry emphasized that there was no attempt to breach any barriers, nor was the security compromised. The police dispersed the protesters within minutes.

Furthermore, the statement added, 'At no point was there any attempt to breach barriers or compromise security. The police present at the scene dispersed the group within minutes. Visual evidence of these events is publicly available for all to see. India is committed to ensuring the security of foreign missions/posts within its territory in accordance with the Vienna Convention.'

Commitment to Diplomatic Security

India reiterated its full commitment to ensuring the safety of all foreign embassies and diplomats present in the country under the Vienna Convention.
