Moqi (China): In a stunning display of skill, India successfully defended their title at the Junior Asia Cup, defeating Korea 4-1 in the final held in Moqi, China, securing their spot in the upcoming World Cup.

This victory marks India's sixth title in the tournament's history, further solidifying their status as the most successful team.

India's previous championships were won in 2004, 2008, 2015, 2023, and 2024, showcasing their dominance in junior hockey.

The match began with Ajeet Yadav scoring in the 9th minute, followed by Captain Anmol Ekka doubling the lead just four minutes later.

Despite a penalty corner awarded to Korea towards the end of the first quarter, India's defense held strong, preventing any goals.

India extended their lead to 3-0 with a brilliant goal from Prabhdeep Singh in the 21st minute, maintaining control as they headed into halftime.

The final quarter saw India continue their offensive strategy, earning a penalty corner that led to Ashu Maurya scoring in the 50th minute, pushing the score to 4-0.

Korea managed to score a penalty stroke through Captain Lee Minhyeok in the 54th minute, but it was too late to change the outcome.

In recognition of their remarkable achievement, Hockey India announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for each player and Rs 1.5 lakh for the support staff.
