Sumit Antil Breaks His Own World Record

Sumit Antil made headlines by breaking his own world record with an impressive throw of 74.82 meters at the Indian Open Para Athletics Championship 2026. Mandaviya referred to this accomplishment as a 'historic feat,' acknowledging Antil's ongoing success on the world stage.


Mandaviya expressed his congratulations on social media, stating, 'Historic feat. Congratulations to Sumit Antil on shattering the World Record yet again with a massive 74.82m throw at the Indian Open Para Athletics Championship 2026.'


Esha Singh Achieves Gold and Sets a New World Record

In another significant achievement, shooter Esha Singh secured the gold medal in the Women's 25m Pistol event at the ISSF World Cup held in Munich, where she set a new world record with an outstanding score of 43.


Mandaviya celebrated this achievement, calling it a 'day of world records for Bharat,' highlighting India's growing prowess in various sports.


He shared on social media, 'A day of World Records for Bharat. At the ISSF World Cup in Munich, Esha Singh scripted history by winning Gold in the Women's 25m Pistol event with a phenomenal World Record score of 43.'


Antil's Continued Success

Sumit Antil, an Olympic and World Championship gold medalist in para javelin, broke his own world record in the men's javelin F64 category during the Indian Open Para Athletics Championships in Bengaluru.


According to a statement from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Media, 'Sumit Antil has once again rewritten history by breaking his own World Record in the Men's Javelin F64 category with a massive throw of 74.82m at the Indian Open. This surpasses his previous record of 73.29m set at the 2022 Asian Para Games.'


Antil is recognized as one of India's top para-athletes, having won consecutive gold medals at the Paralympics in 2020 and 2024, along with three gold medals at the World Para Athletics Championships. His performance at the World Para Athletics Championship in Delhi last year was particularly memorable, where he achieved a meet record of 71.37m to secure his third gold medal at the event, making him the Indian athlete with the most World Para Athletics gold medals.
