Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, India is set to become the first Asian team and only the third overall, following England and Australia, to participate in 600 Test matches. Sri Lanka has introduced off-spinner Keshara Nuwantha, who made his Test debut after impressing in the warm-up match by taking the wickets of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant.
Sri Lanka's team will be led by Dhananjaya de Silva, with Niroshan Dickwella taking on the wicketkeeper role. The batting lineup includes Lahiru Udara, Nishan Madushka, and Dinesh Chandimal, while Kamindu Mendis and Sonal Dinusha provide all-round capabilities.
