Prisoner Exchange Between India and Pakistan
Lahore: On Wednesday, officials confirmed that India and Pakistan successfully exchanged one prisoner each at the Wagah-Attari border. The Border Security Force (BSF) transferred Muhammadullah, a member of the Pakistan Rangers, to Pakistani authorities this morning.
Reports from state media indicate that Muhammadullah accidentally crossed into Indian territory, leading to his detention by the BSF.
In return, Constable Purnam Kumar Shaw, a BSF officer who had crossed the border into Kasur district in late April, was handed over to Indian officials at the Wagah border. The entire exchange was conducted under strict security measures.
