India A Takes Charge in Galle

India A solidified their position in the first unofficial Test against Sri Lanka A by declaring at an impressive 452 for 6. By the end of Day 2, they had restricted the hosts to 113 for 2 in Galle.

Dhruv Jurel's Stellar Performance

Starting the day with a strong foundation, India A was propelled by wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who scored an unbeaten 141. His steady innings helped the team surpass the 450-run mark before they declared.

Jurel, who resumed play on Day 2 with 68 runs, transformed his overnight score into a century, hitting 13 fours and a six. He lost his overnight partner, Shaik Rasheed, early in the day. Rasheed added just 10 runs to his previous score of 53 before being bowled by Chamika Gunasekara, finishing with 63 runs.

Jurel then partnered with Harsh Dubey, contributing to an 86-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Dubey scored a quick 30 off 51 balls before becoming Gunasekara's third victim. Gunasekara ended the innings with impressive bowling figures of 3 for 84, but India A declared shortly after, setting a formidable first-innings total.

Sri Lanka A Struggles Despite Fernando's Efforts

Sri Lanka A's innings began poorly, losing opener Niroshan Dickwella to Anshul Kamboj in the fourth over. Pawantha Weerasinghe was then bowled by Yash Thakur, leaving the hosts in a precarious position at 38 for 2.

Nuwanidu, however, showed resilience, remaining not out at 65 from 103 balls, including seven boundaries. He received support from Ashen Bandara, who patiently scored 18 off 51 balls. Together, they formed an unbroken partnership of 75 runs for the third wicket, helping to stabilize the innings before stumps.

Despite their efforts, Sri Lanka A is still under pressure, trailing by 339 runs with eight wickets remaining as they head into Day 3, while India A maintains a strong grip on the match.
