Outstanding Results from Odisha's Red Cross School for the Blind
Berhampur: The Red Cross School for the Blind, located in Ganjam district, Odisha, has once again celebrated a remarkable achievement by attaining a 100% pass rate in the recently announced High School Certificate (HSC) examination results.
This year, all 11 visually impaired candidates, including four girls, successfully passed the examination, as confirmed by Principal Priya Ranjan Mahakuda.
Among the students, two boys achieved A2 grades with scores exceeding 80%, while two others received B1 grades (above 70%). Additionally, three students earned B2 grades (over 60%), and four secured C grades (over 50%).
Since its inception in 1983, this residential institution has consistently maintained a perfect success rate in the matriculation examinations.
Mahakuda emphasized that the dedicated efforts of the teaching staff play a crucial role in this ongoing success.
Students Bikram Giri and Binayak Patra, who both earned A2 grades, expressed their aspirations to continue their education.
"We aim to pursue Plus II in college," they stated.
Previously, students encountered difficulties in accessing Plus II education due to a shortage of Braille textbooks. However, this issue has been effectively addressed over the past three years.
Prakash Narayan Rath, manager of the government-operated computerized Braille press, mentioned, "We have been producing Braille textbooks for Plus II Arts students and distributing them to various institutions at no cost, as per government directives."
In addition, three other schools in Berhampur have also reported a 100% success rate.
Saraswati Vidya Mandir at Nilakantha Nagar has maintained a perfect success rate for the past 33 years, while both Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir at Ramahari Nagar and Goshaninuagan have achieved this milestone for 23 consecutive years.
