The Federal Protective Service (FSO) of Russia has ramped up security protocols in recent months, responding to perceived threats. Sources familiar with the situation in Moscow and European intelligence have revealed that Putin's isolation has grown since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to heightened fears of a coup or drone strikes. A source mentioned that the impact of Ukraine's drone operations, particularly the recent Operation Spiderweb, remains a significant concern.

Last year, Ukrainian drones successfully targeted Russian airbases located beyond the Arctic Circle, further intensifying security apprehensions.
