Fee Hike for Aadhaar PVC Card

New Delhi, January 7, 2026: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced an increase in the fee for the Aadhaar PVC card. The cost to order this durable, wallet-sized plastic Aadhaar card has risen to ₹75 from the previous ₹50. This change, effective from January 1, 2026, reflects a ₹25 increase.

According to UIDAI, the adjustment in fees is due to the rising costs associated with materials, printing, secure delivery, and logistics. This marks the first fee revision since the PVC card service was launched in 2020. The new fee includes GST and charges for speed post delivery.

The PVC Aadhaar card is a robust plastic card that holds the same validity as the paper Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar. It features a QR code, hologram (with some updates), microtext, and various security elements. This card is resistant to water and damage, making it easy to carry in a pocket.
