Today, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu officially opened the newly built Ban Ganga Ghat in Kangra. The event featured an evening aarti, which was conducted with Vedic chants reminiscent of those in Haridwar. This daily ritual is anticipated to attract numerous devotees visiting the site.

The project, which cost approximately Rs. 2.20 crore, received substantial backing from the Captain Shailesh Riyalch Foundation, contributing around Rs. 1.5 crore. The Kangra district administration also played a role by providing nearly Rs. 70 lakh for the initiative. Captain Shailesh, who hailed from the Ambari region of Nagrota Bagwan, was martyred 25 years ago, and the foundation was established in his honor, significantly aiding in the ghat's development.

Additionally, a 25-foot trident is set to be installed within the ghat complex. To enhance the experience for devotees and tourists, facilities such as a grand aarti platform, changing rooms, toilets, an attractive stage, a landscaped park, and improved lighting have been constructed. The site will also host yoga sessions and various religious and cultural events alongside the evening aarti.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Himachal Pradesh is revered as Dev Bhoomi, with the Bajreshwari Temple in Kangra serving as a significant spiritual hub for countless devotees nationwide. The ghat has been designed with the convenience of worshippers in mind, providing a safe and organized area for bathing and performing rituals.
