Inaugural Shining Star Awards in Nurpur Celebrates Academic Excellence
A Night of Recognition for Young Achievers

NURPUR: The first edition of the Shining Star Awards took place in Nurpur on Thursday, June 12, 2025, and was met with overwhelming success as a full hall celebrated the achievements of numerous students excelling in their Class 10 and 12 board examinations.
Held at the banquet hall of Jyoti Hotel and Restaurant in Kandwal, this event marked the third season of the Shining Star Awards series. It was the inaugural ceremony in Nurpur following successful editions in Chamba and Dharamshala earlier this month.
Ranbir Singh Nikka, the local BJP MLA, attended as the Chief Guest and personally presented certificates to students who achieved scores of 85% and above across various boards and streams.
During his speech, MLA Nikka commended the Shining Star initiative and urged students to pursue excellence not only in academics but in all aspects of life. He stated, “This platform is not merely about grades; it celebrates the spirit of determination, dedication, and dreams. I am honored to partake in this celebration of talent.”
Honoring Perseverance and Commitment
The venue buzzed with excitement as students, along with their proud parents and teachers, filled the space with energy. The atmosphere was charged with emotion as students were recognized not only for their academic achievements but also for their resilience and commitment in a competitive educational landscape.
The Shining Star Awards 3.0 represents more than just a recognition ceremony; it is a statewide initiative aimed at identifying and celebrating young achievers throughout Himachal Pradesh.
This series is supported by various institutions, including Guru Study Centre-Dharamshala, Aarni University, HIET Group of Institutions, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), P3Y, Soul Frame-Dharamshala, and the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL).
Building on the success of the previous editions in 2023 and 2024, this season has seen unprecedented levels of participation and impact, with the Nurpur event adding another milestone to the awards journey.
A Commitment to Student Well-Being
Sunil Chadha, Executive Editor of the Shining Star Awards, remarked, “These young individuals are not just top scorers; they are the innovators, leaders, and change-makers of tomorrow. This recognition is a small gesture of our faith in their vast potential.”
Political Editor S Gopal Puri shared similar sentiments, stating, “Every successful student has a supportive family behind them. Today, we also honor the unsung heroes — the parents and teachers.”
The Shining Star Awards also reiterated its dedication to the overall well-being of students. Abhinav Sharma, Head of Human Resources, mentioned, “Our support for students extends beyond the awards. We are here to guide and assist them mentally, emotionally, and academically.”
