BJP Leader's Alarming Accusations

In a startling revelation, Kirit Somaiya, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, accused actor Imran Khan of receiving financial backing from Pakistan and other foreign entities to incite chaos and plot against the stability of India.

This claim emerged shortly after the Mumbai Police instructed the actor to exit India by October 28 due to his involvement in a recent protest against the Chief Election Commissioner.

In a video statement, Somaiya asserted, "Imran Khan, an American citizen, is allegedly receiving funds from Pakistan and foreign support to orchestrate unrest in India."

He expressed his approval of the Mumbai Police and Immigration Department's decision to mandate Khan's departure, emphasizing that foreign nationals using external funds to disrupt peace in India should face similar consequences.

Somaiya had previously lodged a complaint against Khan, urging travel restrictions until the Mumbai Police concluded their investigation, suggesting the actor might flee the country.

Imran Khan, who is related to Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, is well-known for his performances in films such as Jaane tu Jaane na and Delhi Belly.

He is said to be an American citizen and possesses an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card.

Earlier, the Mumbai Police issued a notice to Khan, instructing him to leave India by October 28 due to his participation in the anti-EC protest on October 10, which they claimed violated the Foreigners Act.

During the protest at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai, Khan was accompanied by his partner Lekha Washington and cousin Zayne Marie Khan. They were briefly detained by authorities before being released a few hours later.

Following the protest, Kirit Somaiya approached the Mumbai Police, arguing that Khan should be charged for engaging in an "illegal political agitation" and for "violating OCI provisions and visa conditions."
