IMD Weather Update
IMD Weather LIVE Updates: This month, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announced an early arrival of the monsoon across India. Rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, has caused waterlogging in various regions. The weather agency has predicted continued rainfall over northwest India for the next four to five days due to a Western Disturbance.
On May 30, heavy to very heavy rainfall was reported in Kerala, coastal Karnataka, and the hilly areas of Tamil Nadu. However, the IMD expects a decrease in rainfall intensity afterward. In the upcoming days, several regions will experience intense downpours, including Assam and Meghalaya on June 1; coastal Karnataka until June 2; and Kerala & Mahe on May 31 and June 1. Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh will see rain on May 31, while Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be affected on May 31 and June 1. The Konkan and Goa regions will also experience rainfall from May 31 to June 2.
Previously, the IMD indicated that a depression forming over Bangladesh is expected to move north-northeast and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 12 hours. For live weather updates, daily forecasts, and alerts from the IMD, stay tuned.
