Ganga Discusses Player Development
Ganga noted the significant progress of UAE players within their teams, stating, "Several UAE players have become essential match-winners. Athletes like Ayaan Khan, Khuzaima Tanveer, and Muhammad Waseem have shown remarkable growth and could easily join leagues worldwide."
"Tanveer stands out with his pace, control, and ability to swing and seam the ball, making him a formidable player. Over time, we will see more UAE and ICC Associate Nation players integrated into the squads, which is a positive direction. Building sustainable success in cricket takes time," he added.
Regarding Pathum Nissanka, who has been pivotal for the Giants with three consecutive half-centuries, Ganga remarked, "He deserves more global recognition. His performance over the past year and a half has been outstanding, and his contributions in this tournament have solidified his reputation. I have witnessed his journey since his first Test century against the West Indies, and it has been impressive."

Ganga believes that the inaugural auction held in October has reshaped the competitive dynamics of the league. "The auction has fostered greater balance among teams. This season, adaptability is crucial as many matches depend on conditions, and only the strongest teams have demonstrated the depth needed to tackle these challenges."

The 46-year-old commentator views the league as one of the most appealing venues in global franchise cricket, attributing its unique structure and organization as key differentiators. "The presence of top T20 players underscores the tournament's value. It is the go-to destination for T20 cricket," he stated.
"From a scheduling perspective, it suits both the subcontinent and Western audiences. Players appreciate being accommodated in one hotel while competing at three different venues across three cities—Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. This convenience is unmatched compared to other leagues that require numerous flights for players," he explained.
Fostering Regional Development
Commenting on the inclusion of players from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in Season 4, Ganga said, "The league initially focused on developing UAE players, but it has now expanded to encompass regional growth. For instance, Mohammed Shafeeq's participation with MI Emirates signifies positive progress."
Initiatives for Player Development
Ganga praised the ILT20 Player Development Initiative, which has brought in seven African cricketers to train with the franchises during the season. "Training alongside some of the best players offers invaluable learning experiences. It's not just about playing time; it's also about the insights gained within the dressing room. This exposure minimizes the trial-and-error phase for developing players and encourages everyone to perform at their best," he concluded.
