Candidates can expect seat allotment results on July 16, followed by document verification and fee payment. Spot Round Counselling Details

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has revealed the schedule for its spot round counselling for the academic session 2025-26. Online registration and choice filling will commence on July 10.


The results for seat allotment in the spot round will be announced on July 16, 2023. On this date, candidates will also have the opportunity to indicate their willingness (freeze option), upload necessary documents, raise queries, and withdraw from the seat allocation. Document verification is set to conclude by July 17, 2023, while the payment of semester fees will be accepted from July 18 to July 20, 2023.

Regional Centres and Programs

The institute operates five regional centres across India, providing journalism programs in both English and various regional languages.


The first regional centre was established in Dhenkanal, Odisha, in 1993 to cater to the Eastern region. In the academic year 2011-12, two additional centres were launched: one in Amravati, Maharashtra, for the Western region, and another in Aizawl, Mizoram, for the Northeastern region.


In 2012-13, two more centres were introduced, one in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, serving the Northern region, and the other in Kottayam, Kerala, for the Southern region.
