IDF's Ground Operations in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have escalated their operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, particularly expanding targeted ground actions in the Bint Jbeil area. In a statement shared on Telegram, the IDF reported that soldiers from its 98th Division, including paratroopers, commandos, and troops from the Givati Brigade, have encircled Hezbollah's military infrastructure and initiated a focused ground campaign to bolster Israel's forward defense position along the border.

According to the IDF, over the past week, its forces have conducted multiple operations targeting Hezbollah positions in the region. They claim that a combination of direct confrontations and airstrikes has resulted in the deaths of more than 100 Hezbollah militants, alongside the destruction of numerous infrastructure sites.

Details of the Ongoing Campaign

The statement further elaborated that during the last week, soldiers from the 98th Division have successfully surrounded Hezbollah's military structures and commenced targeted ground operations in the Bint Jbeil area. Through direct combat and airstrikes, they have reportedly killed over 100 Hezbollah operatives and destroyed dozens of terrorist infrastructure sites, recovering hundreds of weapons in the process. This includes arms that were allegedly concealed within and around civilian infrastructure.

As part of the ongoing operations, IDF soldiers have reportedly discovered and destroyed an underground tunnel that Hezbollah was using to plan and execute attacks against the Israeli army. The military stated that the tunnel was neutralized following thorough searches and operational inspections. Reinforcing their stance, the IDF affirmed its commitment to protecting Israeli citizens and continuing operations against Hezbollah to prevent further attacks.
