Samarth Singh, the husband of Twisha Sharma, was apprehended on Friday after being missing since his wife's death on May 12. On Saturday, a court in Bhopal placed him in police custody for seven days. Amid tight security, he was presented before First-Class Judicial Magistrate Anudita Gupta. Given the sensitivity of the case, the courtroom was filled with a large crowd. Both sides presented detailed arguments and engaged in extensive discussions regarding every aspect of the case under the watchful eye of police forces and senior officials.

Prior to his court appearance, the police commissioner stated that Samarth Singh would undergo a medical examination. The police intend to question him in detail about the circumstances surrounding Twisha's death during the seven-day custody. Reports indicate that Samarth had attempted to surrender at a court in Jabalpur, but before the process could proceed, a team from Bhopal police, assisted by Jabalpur police, took him into custody. Authorities have also warned that anyone who allegedly assisted or sheltered him during his days of disappearance could face legal action.
