Husband Arrested for Sharing Private Video in Madhya Pradesh

Allegations of Harassment
According to police reports, the victim filed a complaint stating that she married on May 10, 2025. Following the marriage, she claims to have faced harassment related to dowry demands. The victim alleges that when these demands were not met, her husband threatened to tarnish her reputation and subsequently recorded and disseminated the private video online.
Motivation Behind the Act
During the initial investigation, authorities discovered that the accused had a history of viewing adult websites. He reportedly expressed a desire to become 'popular' as a motive for sharing the video during questioning. The victim's family has also accused him of persistent pressure and dowry demands.
Threats and Arrest
Following the video's circulation, the accused fled but later returned to his in-laws' home in Tilaiya village, where he allegedly threatened the family. Police acted on this information, surrounding the area and taking him into custody.
Police Statement
The case has been registered in Rewa. CSP Rajiv Pathak confirmed that the accused has been remanded to judicial custody, and measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the victim's family. He emphasized that due to the seriousness of the situation, strict actions are being pursued under the IT Act and other relevant laws. The police have urged the public not to share or forward anyone's private content, as doing so is a legal offense and severely violates the victim's privacy.
