The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) has garnered significant praise for its outstanding management during the recent T20 match between India and South Africa at the scenic Dharamshala stadium.

This event marked the inaugural use of e-tickets, a step that has been recognized for its eco-friendliness and effectiveness in combating ticket black-marketing. Balveer Chandel, the former president of the Education Board Employees’ Union, commended this digital initiative, advocating for similar reforms across various departments in Himachal Pradesh.

Chandel highlighted that HPCA provided excellent seating arrangements for fans, while the stadium's lush outfield and decorations enhanced the event's overall appeal. He also praised the police for their effective traffic management, which played a crucial role in ensuring the match proceeded smoothly.

The third T20 encounter between India and South Africa transcended mere sports; it became an emotional experience for countless fans. The stadium was filled with enthusiastic supporters of all ages, showcasing the thrill of enjoying cricket in one of the world's most stunning locations.

Moreover, HPCA's initiatives positively impacted local tourism. Hotels in Smart City Dharamshala reported occupancy rates exceeding 80%, and homestays experienced a surge in activity. The arrival of both domestic and international tourists, including luxury travelers, is anticipated to benefit other popular destinations like Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, and Kasauli.

Chandel pointed out that, following significant losses due to monsoon damage, the successful hosting of this match provided essential economic relief and revitalization for Himachal Pradesh.

“HPCA has crafted a new chapter in the tourism narrative of Himachal through its exceptional organization and foresight,” he remarked.
