In Bhubaneswar, Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta urged officials to ensure that insurance companies facilitate prompt compensation for farmers who are insured. During a meeting focused on the effectiveness of crop loan distribution via cooperatives and the execution of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, he emphasized the government's dedication to advancing agriculture and supporting farmers. He stated that transparency in agricultural loan distribution is a top priority. "Farmers registered under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana who experience crop losses will receive timely compensation from their insurance providers," he affirmed. Several MLAs, including Aali's Pratap Keshari Deb and Mahanga's Sarada Pradhan, shared their insights during the session.
The meeting commenced with an address from Cooperation Commissioner and Secretary Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, while Siddharth Das, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, extended the vote of thanks. Notable attendees included NABARD CGM Sanjay Kumar Talukdar, AGCS Santosh Kumar Nayak, CEOs of all Central Cooperative Banks, and senior officials from the Cooperation Department.
