Bhubaneswar Conference Highlights Climate Change's Impact on Urban Poverty


In Bhubaneswar, experts gathered at a conference organized by the Indian Institute of Education and Care (IIEC) to discuss the pressing issue of climate change and its role in exacerbating urban poverty. The event took place at the Buddha Mandir Complex on Saturday.


The conference was inaugurated by IIEC chairman Karunakar Pattnaik and featured notable attendees, including Central MLA Anant Narayan Jena, Ekamra-Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, corporator Ram Chandra Ranasingh, and IIEC director Shishir Kumar Das, along with various social activists and environmental specialists.


During the proceedings, Das introduced a new booklet titled “Journey of Inclusive and Sustainable Urban Development,” which delves into the critical relationship between climate change and urban inequality.
