Aizawl, Oct 7: The vibrant cosmos flowers of Champhai, which transform the paddy fields in Mizoram’s ‘rice bowl’ into a stunning tourist destination, were the highlight as the Hnahsin Kut festival commenced at Zotlang Mual on Tuesday. The event was inaugurated by Horticulture Minister C Lalsawivunga.
During his address, Lalsawivunga emphasized that Hnahsin Kut aims to promote Mizoram’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and traditional wealth through eco-cultural tourism, encouraging visitors to explore the State.
He expressed his delight at the influx of tourists from various districts of Mizoram, as well as from other states and countries, who came to experience the festival.
The minister revealed that the Horticulture Department allocated Rs 20 lakh from the Mizo Ginger Mission to support the festival's organization, which will also feature the observance of Mizo Ginger Day.

He encouraged everyone to uphold the positive elements of Mizo culture and to extend the same warmth to guests, wishing all attendees a delightful and memorable festival experience.
